Hey Reader, Welcome if you're new! We like to keep things short and impactful so you get back to work serving your nonprofit community. We're living in exciting times, and I say that lightly. With whatever troubles, hard times, and obstacles ahead, we're here for you. The privilege granted to serve your communities does not go amiss. Without you, there is no us. Reflection: Rejection is God's Redirection.The last few months, closing out 2024 and thinking about our plan for 2025, I was coming up short. I started doubting the business because of a sales slump and started looking for and applying for W-2 jobs as a backup. I caught myself giving into fear and began asking God to direct my direction. I found myself surrendering to God's will for the first time. I eventually made it to the final interview for a W-2 job opportunity. I began to get excited because of the stability a job brings, especially with my newborn daughter and wife needing healthcare. Everything went great during the interview. I prepared a unique presentation that was unasked for, shared my faith, and thoroughly impressed the interview panel. All was good until they asked me if I planned to continue running Mata Consulting. I said yes, because I wanted to be truthful and upfront with them about my client commitments. I continued to pray after the final interview, asking for peace with whatever decision was made. When I finally heard back from the job, I was denied the position. Man, did that test my faith. I was down to the last of my reserves in the back account and then boom... God answered my prayer. The following week, a client renewal came in. A prospect I pursued for over a year was finally ready to work with us. Funny enough, the person I was up against in the final interview happened to vacate a position that a former boss oversaw. She asked me if I could come in and support her organization in that person's absence. A quick swap happened; one door was shut, and another opened in the most beautiful way. A scripture that resonated with me during this time is Hosea 10:12: "Break up your fallow ground, For it is time to seek the LORD, Till He comes and rains righteousness on you." And make it rain, He did! I don't believe anything is coincidental, I believe God has a plan for me. My surrender and trust in Him helped me see a new way of running this business. I've been blessed to continue to serve nonprofits via our CRM services, especially after doubt, fear, and anxiety started to take hold.
